Alexei Svetlov was born September 7th, 1964 in St. Petersburg, Russia.
From an early age he liked to draw and at the age of five he was accepted as a student at The Children Art Studio at the Hermitage Museum. He successfully graduated at the age of 13. Three times during his scholarship he participated at “We are drawing in the Hermitage” exhibitions.
In 1987 he graduated from the Political Technicial School in Pavlovsk-Petersburg, where he became a professional art decorator. At the same time he attended the studio of the artist I. Suvorov at the Academy of Arts and Design. He was educated in decoration, theather and pantomim by director Vadim Mikheenko and Boris Ponizovski in St. Petersburg Russia and he also attended the studio of the famous artist E. Moiseenko at The Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg.
From 1987-1992 he was employed as an instructor in Art Decoration at Children Group Boarding High School for deaf children.
In 1991 Alexei was a participant of the Russian-American project “Harmony” where he worked as a teacher of drawing at the school for deaf children in the cities of Vermont state, USA. The film studio Lennauh film invited him to take part in the documentary film “In Other Eyes” that tells the story about the art life of different individuals.
In 1992 he was invited by the film studio Lenfilm (Troiskij Most) to play the part of a deaf boy in the film “On The Irtysh River” after a novel of the russian writer Zalygin. This film was ordered by the french television TF1. Alexei Svetlov is also a designer and designer of posters, theatre sets, flats, backdrops and so on.
He is the founder of the group “Real G.A.S – Company of Performance Arts” which has the aim to inspire to various activities and projects of art. Alexei Svetlov is now living in Sweden after a few years in Salzburg, Austria.

He has held workshops in art and theater in several countries like Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Austria, Norway, Sweden. He also has been art teacher at Albertin School in Helsinki, Finland
